This election, MoveOn.org is searching the country to find the funniest and smartest comedians who can harness the power of wit and a microphone to challenge Donald Trump, the GOP's politics of hate, and the pressing issues of bigotry and bullying. MoveOn is holding the national competition to find and elevate the voices of stand-up comics, sketch teams, and Donald Trump impressionists across the country.

The show's lineup includes performers who made it past round 1 of the competition, as well as special guest performers that you'll know and love. Don't miss this great night of political comedy and be a part of discovering the new voices to carry MoveOn.org's message of being #UnitedAgainstHate.

If you want to enter the competition and have a chance to be invited to a showcase, entry rules and forms can be found on www.laughtertrumpshate.com. The deadline to enter is August 17, 2016.

About MoveOn:

MoveOn.org is the largest multi-issue progressive advocacy group in the United States, with millions of members from every corner of the country. Founded in 1998 to counter the impeachment of President Clinton, MoveOn created many of the online organizing techniques—from email fundraising to petitions to online-to-offline field mobilization—that are now standard for campaigns and nonprofits in the U.S. and around the world.

Today, MoveOn.org has millions of members around the country, and reaches millions more each week on social media. MoveOn also has an unparalleled track record of cultural organizing in presidential elections. In 2004, MoveOn created the widely covered “Bush in 30 Seconds” ad contest and the Vote for Change concert series with Bruce Springsteen, R.E.M., and the Dixie Chicks. In 2008, iconic MoveOn-commissioned Obama designs by Shepard Fairey and others were printed on nearly 10 million t-shirts, pins, and stickers. MoveOn’s innovative personalized election video went viral, reaching more than 23 million viewers. In 2012, The New York Times called MoveOn’s ad on women’s issues featuring Scarlett Johansson, Eva Longoria, and Kerry Washington one of the four “most striking” in the election.
